The Stimflex-Weepulse neurostimulator is an external neurostimulation patch offering an innovative solution for the treatment of chronic pain. Transcutaneous electrical neurostimulation is a non-drug, non-invasive technique designed to relieve pain using a low-voltage electrical current transmitted by electrodes placed on the skin. The Stimflex-Weepulse neurostimulator is very thin and light to accompany the patient discreetly. The electrodes are easily connected to the neurostimulator using magnetic connections and the control of the neurostimulation programmes is carried out from a smartphone application via a bluetooth connection.
Ixiade accompanied the CEA Tech team in all phases of product design. Exploratory interviews were carried out with patients from the pain centre of the Grenoble University Hospital and helped to identify the first creative avenues. The final “chocolate square” design was prototyped in elastomer and tested by users.
The Stimflex-Weepulse neurostimulator received the Label of the Observeur du Design 2015.
