The Red Dot Award is an international design competition that takes place every year since 1954 in Essen, Germany. A jury of recognized experts nominates the best products or concepts in various fields from fashion to industry or advertising. The evaluation criteria are based on functional and technical aspects as well as on the level of innovation, the social relevance, the eco-friendliness, or the symbolic and emotional content carried by the product.
This Red Dot award recognizes the design of Nooz glasses, an optical solution created by Ixiade between 2012 and 2016. In a few words, Nooz are today’s presbyopic glasses: no arms, a thin design, light, resistant, comfortable, funny and most of all trendy. They enable presbyopic people (who have an inability to focus clearly on close-up objects) to have a comfortable and convenient solution to hand.
Being awarded a Red Dot award is a recognition for Ixiade and Nooz Optics as well as a proof of quality for our clients. Nooz will soon be part of the pantheon of innovative products being published in the Red Dot Award Book and exposed in the Red Dot museum in Essen.
The award ceremony will take place on July 3rd, 2017.
